Kayak tour to "Birds Island"

We will paddle to "Birds Island " at high tide, to reach the stilt huts..

Meeting at 9:00 AM.

Unload the kayaks equipment at Grand Piquey launching wedge ("debarcadere").

Get ready with canoeing gear, weather-adapted outfit, closed shoes included.

Kayak equipment distribution.

Filling 1 waterproof container for 2 to protect your picnic (brought by you).

Explanation of the navigation project, modifiable according to the group or the weather.

Paddling briefing.

5-6 hours on the water.

Return by 2:00 or 3:00 PM.

Reload the kayak equipment all together.

Insubmersible autovidor double kayak, double paddle, buoyancy vest.

One waterproof container for 2 (in order to carry only indispensable things).

Qualified guide. 

Free parking (however not easy).

Parking is not easy. Allow a time margin.

Take a 1,5L water bottle for each person, and a picnic that not melt on heat. You'll have chocolate when you'll come back !

Leave your spare clothe in your car.

We don't have credit card terminal. Take cash.

There is a fresh water point and public toilets there, and also a restaurant "Le Bellevue" and many oyster testing huts.

Continue your discovery by going to the Cap Ferret : climb the lighthouse,  visit Mimbeau conch, and have a well deserve chocolate icecream at "Sorbet d'amour" famous glacier.
